Sacramento features prominently in a recently released report by the United Nations. But not for reasons the City should be proud of. UN Special Rapporteur Catarina de Albuquerque stated that she “…was especially shocked by what I saw in Sacramento, California, where the city decided to shut down or to restrict the opening hours of public restrooms, forcing homeless people to improvise other types of solutions to be able to exercise the right to sanitation.”

If you need only one reason why not a penny of public funds should go towards a new basketball arena, besides the fact that the “Double Dip” recession has started and that more municipalities will soon be filing for bankruptcy, this would be it. Unless of course the new arena can be used as a public urinal.

sigh…
then there was that especially disturbing piece where the restaurants in sacramento were just about the worst in the world???
